This year's party will be held in the historic manor house at the Village Club of Sands Point. Completed in 1918, the Italian Renaissance-style "Villa Carola" was the former residence of Issac Guggenheim.  In 1924 his brother, Solomon R. Guggenheim, acquired the estate and renamed the home "Trillora Court" after his three daughters.  In 1939 he established the Museum of Non-Objective Art though his foundation.  Mr. Guggenheim resided at Trillora Court until his death in 1948.  In 1959 the museum moved to 1071 5th Avenue and was renamed the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in his honor (www.guggenheim.org).
